The Northeast Louisiana Celtic Festival seeks to promote and preserve the rich Celtic heritage of Northeast Louisiana, which has historically been known as “Celtic Louisiana,” and to host events which educate, entertain and promote cultural awareness. In addition to the festival’s regional highlights, visitors enjoy performances by renowned Celtic musicians and storytellers; workshops on Celtic language, instruments and history; Irish dance and children’s stages; Celtic wares and exhibitors; food and beverage, and much more!

The festival is the culmination of work done by the Enoch “Doyle” Jeter family, who showcase  all types of music at Enoch's Irish Pub & Cafe in Monroe. In particular, Celtic music and cultural activities have enjoyed active support at Enoch's since St. Patrick's Day of 1980.

The festival was begun in October of 2005 as a benefit event for the Louisiana Purchase Zoological Gardens, also the fest’s location for the first 3 years. It moved to the Ike Hamilton Expo Center in West Monroe for the ’08 and ’09 events, and is now held at Forsythe Park on the banks of the beautiful Ouachita River in Monroe. It is a volunteer effort, visitor- and family-friendly, and has enjoyed amazing community support and involvement through the years.
